Women's Ministries

- Special Events: Throughout the year, there are many opportunities to fellowship with other women, including special craft nights (click here for photos), outings such as to the Women of Faith conference, the annual Christmas party/grab bag exchange, and more.

- Monthly Ladies' Fellowship: These popular Tuesday night gatherings include singing, prayer, fellowship, and a lot of fun. Come join us!

- Annual Mother/Daughter Breakfast: A special time of focusing on the relationship between mothers and their daughters.

- Ladies' Bible Studies: Every Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m., the women gather for Bible study and prayer. We encourage all women who are available during that time to participate. You will develop new friendships and increase your understanding of your walk with Christ our Lord. And for working women, we have recently added a Saturday morning Bible study, "Growing in Christ", from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. every other Saturday. (See the Calendar page for the date of the next session.)

Men's Ministries

- Study Groups: One of the ways men can continue to grow is to meet weekly with a small group of men who hold each other accountable in their Christian walk. We offer several times, locations and days to accommodate men who are not intimidated by this kind of commitment. For instance, every Saturday morning at 7:30, a large group of men gather for testimonies, teaching and accountability. Even though it's early, it's electric!

- Special Events: Our men share a variety of activities, including retreats, father and son/daughter activities, training conferences such as Promise Keepers, and other activities for fun and outreach. These are designed for fellowship and to stimulate growth.

- Just For The Fun of It: The men get together just to hang with one another. We've been to Mariners, Rainiers and Seahawks games, and fishing trips. Other possibilities are movies, golf, etc. What would you like to do?

Children's Ministries

It is our desire to provide a safe and creative environment in which children feel welcome, encouraged, and challenged. Each teacher has made a commitment, not only to the church body and the children's ministry, but in his/her own life to grow as a Christian, and therefore to pass a love for Christ and for one another to the children.

With the exception of the nursery/preschool and Jr./Sr. High, each class has two teachers, so that one can be in the classroom while the other can enjoy the service, alternating positions each week. While each teacher has a distinctive teaching style, the teachers work together to keep continuity in the classroom. The nursery has a rotation schedule of four teachers.

- Nursery/Pre-school: A cheerful mural of Noah's Ark greets the children as they enter the nursery. This room opens up to a larger room for spillover or for the more active pre-schoolers. We look forward to having separate classrooms for the nursery and pre-school when enough children are in attendance.

- Kindergarden through Third Grade: Classroom activities include thanks and prayer time, story time activities, craft time, free time (singing and extra crafts), and take home activities.

- Fourth Through Sixth Grade: Classroom activities include sharing time, prayer, story time, activity time, and projects.

- Junior High: Activities include in-depth Bible study, questions and answers, and projects.

Youth Ministries

There is a high level of teen involvement in the planning and running of this ministry. We believe youth are thinking, creative, and capable people who have a lot to offer. We are training and utilizing their ideas, abilities, and energy everywhere we can.

Our Purpose: We are seeking to raise a new generation who will be totally devoted to Jesus Christ. We are not trying to offer a ministry with a little of this and a little of that, but rather...

- 100% great times and fun, bordering on the zany at times!

- 100% emphasis on the fact that Jesus is real, knowable, and personally involved in teens' lives to make the difference in daily experiences.

- 100% belief that God has spoken to us in His Word, the Bible. Through studying, understanding, and following the Word, we can know and grow in a personal relationship with Him. We can become His sources of influence right where we live.

- 100% outstanding adult leaders who genuinely enjoy teens and are committed to having a great time with them as they help them grow in the Lord.

- 100% effort in scheduling appealing events and growth opportunities that meet youth's needs

- 100% appreciation to our church, which has given us much liberty in our approach to the ministry

Music Ministries

Olalla Bible Church offers a great variety of music each Sunday morning. Worship teams are led by Chuck Miller, Mel McCarthy, Wayne Kees, and Sally McCarthy. Our music ranges from traditional to bluegrass to contemporary. We have a variety of musical instruments and several fine vocalists. We welcome you to participate in, or give input to, the music ministry. It is our desire to facilitate praise to our God with worship that comes from our hearts.

Feel free to contact Sally McCarthy if you desire to become involved in serving God through music, or have any input that would help us grow and improve.

Do you play an instrument? Do you sing? Maybe you write songs. Opportunities to use your musical gift at OBC include:

- Worship team during Sunday morning services

- Ladies or men's ensembles

- Special music (solo or group) during offering

- Helping run the sound equipment or PowerPoint during services
